This summer, Paris becomes the gaming capital of the world, hosting the Esports World Cup (EWC). Seven weeks of elite competition await enthusiasts and the curious alike

For its very first edition outside Saudi Arabia, the Esports World Cup (EWC) is coming to Paris from July 6 to August 23, 2026. A truly global phenomenon, this historic competition will bring together over 2,000 players from 200 clubs and 100 different countries. For seven weeks, the best talents will compete in 24 games across 25 major tournaments, with a record prize fund of over 75 million dollars. In addition to the elite matches, the EWC 2026 will be a major festival for the general public, combining cultural celebrations, concerts and entertainment. Paris thus writes the first international chapter in the history of the EWC. Don't miss this must-see gaming, sporting and festive event of the summer!
The competitions and the heart of the EWC Festival will take place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, complemented by events throughout the capital to get the whole city moving to the rhythm of gaming.

🎤Off-site festivities: opening ceremony and events across Paris

Whilst the heart of the competition is in full swing at the Porte de Versailles, the Esports World Cup 2026 is also taking over the public spaces of Greater Paris through a programme of “off-site” entertainment and major events.

🌟A spectacular opening ceremony in concert format

To officially launch this historic edition, the event will kick off with an exceptional opening ceremony on Wednesday 8 July 2026, the day before the tournaments begin. Designed as a truly immersive show, this event will bring together communities from around the world for artistic performances and exclusive concerts.

  • Where: La Seine Musicale
  • Times: 8 July 2026 from 8pm
  • Line-up and programme: Aya Nakamura, Theodora and DJ Snake will be performing at the Seine Musicale in what promises to be a spectacular show
  • Ticketing: access to this launch show is by reservation only via the dedicated ticketing platform. Remember to book your tickets in advance to experience this unique moment where music meets gaming culture

🌟The EWC Festival in the city

Throughout the seven weeks of competition, pop-up entertainment zones, live screenings on giant screens and meet-and-greets with content creators will bring the capital’s various neighbourhoods to life. 🗺️ Access and practical information

The 2026 Esports World Cup is being held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

📌Travelling by public transport

To get to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, please use sustainable transport and public transport:

  • Metro: line 12 (Porte de Versailles station – direct access from Montparnasse and Saint-Lazare stations) or line 8 (Balard station)
  • Tram: lines T2 and T3a (stop Porte de Versailles)
  • Bus: lines 39 and 80 (stop Porte de Versailles)
  • Cycle: several Vélib’ Métropole stations are available in the immediate vicinity of the exhibition centre

🚨Summer works on Metro Line 12

Due to modernisation works, Metro Line 12 will be subject to several major changes during the Esports World Cup:

  • Complete closures from 10.00 pm: on 8 and 9 July, and on 19 and 23 August 2026
  • Partial closure all day: from 16 to 26 July 2026, services will be suspended between Jules Joffrin and Concorde. Trains will run as normal on the rest of the line, particularly for journeys to Porte de Versailles station from central Paris

Alternative: for your journeys, please consider using line 8 (Balard station), the T2 and T3a trams, or the additional bus services (notably the 80 bus, which runs directly to Porte de Versailles).

📌Accessibility and disability

The Paris Expo Porte de Versailles site is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM) and those with disabilities:

  • Pathways: level access, access ramps and lifts provide easy access to all the pavilions and competition areas
  • Dedicated services: adapted and reserved parking spaces are available in the site’s car parks (notably Car Park R). To ensure optimal support and access to PRM seating areas within the arenas, dedicated reception desks will be set up at the event entrance

When and where will the 2026 Esports World Cup take place?

The event will be held from 6 July to 23 August 2026 in Paris. The main competition and the large public festival will be based at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, complemented by ‘off-site’ events across the city.

Where can I buy tickets for EWC 2026 Paris and what types of passes are available?

The official ticket office is already open. Several options are available for purchase to follow the competitions week by week:

  • Day tickets: to attend the group stages (Group Stage) or the finals (Championship Weekend)
  • Regular Tournament Pass: a standard pass so you don’t miss a thing from a specific tournament
  • Premium Tournament Pass: a premium pass that includes exclusive benefits such as fast-track access to the arena and a collector’s goodie bag (containing a T-shirt, a tote bag and a limited-edition collectable item)

What are the ticket prices?

Prices vary depending on the games, the importance of the match and the package chosen. For example, entry tickets for the group stages start at around €8 to €11, whilst tickets for the weekend’s grand finals range from approximately €25 to €80. Full Premium passes for a major tournament are priced from €80 to over €270 depending on the competition. Early Bird launch offers are available.

What about tickets originally purchased for Riyadh?

If you had purchased tickets for the event originally scheduled to take place in Riyadh, please note that these tickets will be automatically and fully refunded. As compensation, you will receive an exclusive promotional code for the Paris event via email.

Do children pay for entry?

Entry is completely free for children under 3 years old. Please note, however, that all minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during their visit to the venue.

What are the terms and conditions for using the tickets?

In accordance with the official terms and conditions of the webook.com ticketing service:

  • Tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable and must be held by the named ticket holder
  • Once you leave the venue, you cannot re-enter (tickets do not allow re-entry on the same day)
  • The resale of tickets outside the official platform is strictly prohibited
  • It is forbidden to bring food or drink from outside into the event venue

Will there be opening ceremonies?

Yes! The EWC 2026 will kick off this historic edition with exceptional opening ceremonies designed as major concerts. A dedicated ticketing system will be set up for these launch shows.

Is the event suitable for families and children?

Absolutely. Whilst the elite tournaments are aimed at enthusiasts, the main festival running alongside the competitions is designed for the general public. It offers a wide range of immersive activities, free-play zones, meet-and-greets with content creators, and cultural experiences ideal for the whole family.

Is there food available on site?

Yes, there will be plenty of food outlets, food trucks and themed relaxation areas set up within the festival grounds and pavilions, so you can spend a full day at the venue.
