Maison des Jardies à Sèvres

Seeking peace and quiet away from Paris, Gambetta became the owner, some forty years after Balzac, of the small house known as Les Jardies, in Sèvres. The statesman made hardly any changes to this very simple, trellis-covered house, where he died in 1882. Since dedicated to the memory of Gambetta, Les Jardies still has its original decor and contains a collection of memorabilia.

Opening times and prices

Under 18s.

Free entry on the first Sunday of the month, from 1 November to 31 May.
Free for those under 26 from countries within the European Union as well as primary and secondary school teachers (except temporary exhibitions).
Free for job seekers and those on French welfare benefits.

Guided tours are organized at 2.30pm, 4pm, and 5pm when the house is open.

Full price: €6, concessions €5.
