MONUMENT

Maison des Jardies à Sèvres

14 avenue Gambetta - 92310 Sèvres 92 - Hauts-de-Seine
COVID19: the Centre for National Monuments has decided to abolish the first free Sunday in November (Sunday 1 November) for monuments in the red zone. The entrance fee will therefore apply normally. The aim of this measure is to limit the number of visitors to monuments due to the health crisis. This measure will be renewable from December 2020 to March 2021 as long as the areas are in the red zone.
Seeking peace and quiet away from Paris, Gambetta became the owner, some forty years after Balzac, of the small house known as Les Jardies, in Sèvres. The statesman made hardly any changes to this very simple, trellis-covered house, where he died in 1882. Since dedicated to the memory of Gambetta, Les Jardies still has its original decor and contains a collection of memorabilia.
