Founded in 1999 with the pioneering mission of supporting the arts scene in France, the Pernod Ricard Foundation is located near the Saint-Lazare train station and has been led by Antonia Scintilla since 2023.
The richness of its program and the diversity of its initiatives are rooted in the conviction that art is a powerful vehicle for empowerment and for fostering a better sense of community.
Each year, the Foundation presents four exhibitions guided by a rigorous curatorial policy, as well as a weekly program of events and talks, also available online. It also develops several formats of research residencies within its Aperto project space and organizes numerous events in partnership with art schools, publishing houses, and various institutions—all of these activities are entirely free and open to the general public.
Both in France and on the international stage, its outreach initiatives help provide greater visibility to artists, as well as to curators, authors, and various figures in the fields of art, creation, and ideas with whom the Foundation collaborates.
While encouraging experimentation, the exchange of ideas, and the transformation of forms on various scales, the Foundation’s team is constantly renewing its methods and perspectives. This commitment aims to foster a rigorous and ongoing dialogue with the key players in an ever-evolving art scene, one that is closely linked to contemporary issues.
It is within this framework that in 2025, following the 25th edition of its Prize, the Foundation undertook a fundamental review of the mechanisms that had until then structured this historic support program for the French arts scene.
With the introduction of the New Program, the Foundation is now affirming its commitment to offering a renewed model of guidance and support, moving away from the logic of competition and acceleration that still largely dominates the field. It is thus establishing a sustainable, attentive, and fully personalized support system, in keeping with its overall programming.
