Ferme de Paris

1 route du Pesage - 75012 Paris Bois de Vincennes
Since 1989 the Ferme de Paris has allowed visitors to discover cultures and livestock. It is a place of resources and awareness of sustainable food and urban agriculture. It is managed according to organic farming practices, with respect for the environment and animal welfare. The land is divided between crops (orchards, educational vegetable gardens, vegetated backyards, demonstration plots of field crops and permaculture), pastures and shelters for animals: cows, goats, sheep, pigs, poultry and rabbits. During the week, practical workshops, training, tours and educational activities are open to groups by appointment. On weekends and on theme days, visitors can attend the farm work and take part in educational workshops. The Ferme de Paris was called Ferme Georges Ville (1824-1897) after the agronomist who created his agricultural experimental field there to conduct research on soil fertilization. The site still houses buildings built under the Second Empire.
