From April 15 to the end of October 2026, a tourist information scooter will be on hand at the Porte des Amandiers in the Père Lachaise cemetery (opposite the Père Lachaise metro station). The Maison du 20e teams distribute free maps of the Père Lachaise cemetery and answer any questions visitors may have, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Friday.

For the weekend of May 8, 2026, celebrate the 10th edition of Printemps des cimetières at Père Lachaise. Discover a new experience with the Whatizis app: scan the monuments to listen instantly to the history of the most famous graves. A fun, connected way to rediscover this world heritage in the heart of spring.

Père Lachaise cemetery takes its name from the confessor of King Louis XIV, Father François d'Aix de La Chaise. It is the largest and most prestigious necropolis in Paris. Located in the 20th arrondissement of the capital, it covers 44 hectares and contains 70,000 plots. The design of the cemetery combines an English-style park with a place of meditation. All styles of funerary art are represented: Gothic tombs, Haussmannian vaults, ancient mausoleums... Along the green paths, visitors come across the graves of famous men and women: Honoré de Balzac, Guillaume Apollinaire, Marcel Proust, Frédéric Chopin, Colette, Jean-François Champollion, Jean de La Fontaine, Molière, Yves Montand, Simone Signoret, Jim Morrison, Alfred de Musset, Edith Piaf, Camille Pissarro and Oscar Wilde. Most of the divisions in the oldest part of the cemetery are listed as Historic Monuments.
