Château de Pierrefonds

Until the architect Viollet-le-Duc completed the restoration for Napoléon III, the château de Pierrefonds (end of 19th century) was in ruins. Nearly 30 years were needed to complete the work. The builders took certain liberties with the archeological truth, but the result is astounding: a drawbridge, eight imposing defensive towers, a keep... all for a magical visit to the country of knights!

Opening times and prices

Free for Under 18s and 18-25s from the European Union.

Free on the first Sunday of the month, from November to March. All exemptions are explained on the website.

Guided tour in French: length: 1 hour - regular departures. Lectures with tour in French, English and German.

Full price: €8 (Reduced price: €6.50)

From September to April: every day, 10am-5.30pm. From May to September: every day, 9.30am-6pm.
