In BMX park competitions, which take their name from the park designed for BMX riders, athletes perform a series of tricks over different obstacles, such as spines, walls and box jumps.

Competition format
The competition featured two rounds: a seeding round and a final. In each round, each rider completed two runs of 60 seconds each.

Five judges awarded marks between 0.00 and 99.99 depending on the difficulty and execution of the rider's run.

In the seeding round, athletes were awarded a score based on the average of the two runs. The athlete with the best score in the seeding round went last in the final.

In the final, only the higher score of the two runs counted.
