Dances, balls and burlesque evenings in Paris

Places in Paris with a burlesque and festive atmosphere

Some places recreate the atmosphere of bygone Paris with shows and nights out on different themes.

At 104, rue d'Aubervilliers in the 19th arrondissement, the Bal Pop' is a popular and free dance night held once a month. They have a mix of java, tango, waltz and contemporary music. Professionals and amateurs come together in this renovated funeral home municipal funeral services establishment, which is now a modern and contemporary space.

In the Belleville district, La Bellevilloise is a cultural spot that hosts a variety of events: evenings dedicated to an author or musician, electro-swing dancing and even Filles de Joie cabaret shows. Filles de Joie is a new burlesque school that performs stripteases and American show girl routines in a funny and glamorous way. La Bellevilloise has also hosted the Paris Burlesque Festival for the last 5 years. This annual festival, packed with burlesque performances, is normally held in October and features concerts, shows, happenings, training workshops and an open stage.

In the club La Machine du Moulin Rouge, Paris Bal Rock (formerly Bal de l'Elysée Montmartre) plays a mix of rock, groove, disco, funk and motown music. The musicians all play live and Chinese lanterns, party novelties and balloons add to the fun. The band also plays regularly at dances in Olympia.
