Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse

Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse occupies part of the Palais de Chaillot, built for the 1937 International Exhibition.

Concealed beneath the Place du Trocadéro and facing the Eiffel Tower, the theater reveals multiple facets that merit a visit to discover its heritage.

An Art Deco jewel:
Built by Jacques Carlu, Louis-Hippolyte Boileau and Léon Azéma and decorated by the greatest artists of the period, including Nabis painters Maurice Denis, Edouard Vuillard and Pierre Bonnard, the theater has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1980.

History with a capital H:
It was here that the world's first national and popular theater was created. After the war, it became the headquarters of the United Nations, and saw the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in December 1948.

Behind the scenes:
From backstage to the costume workshop, from the stage to the gassed corridors, enter the arcane world of creation in contact with the technicians who bring the place to life.
