Its limits defined by the Latin Quarter, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Montparnasse, the Quartier du Luxembourg district is not to be missed, unless you intend to overlook some of the most important sites in Paris! Begin with the Jardins du Luxembourg with their 23 hectares of immeasurably beautiful flower beds and sculptures; the French Senate also has its home here. Try as well to visit the Musée du Luxembourg and its Orangerie, where palm trees, pomegranate trees and orange trees take shelter in autumn and winter. The district also includes the neoclassical Panthéon, the architectural treasure crowning Montagne Sainte-Geneviève. There are many more examples of the French capital's architectural heritage waiting to be discovered here, such as the Observatoire, the Institut d'Art et d'Archéologie, Hôpital Val de Grace or Eglise Sainte-Sulpice.
