This is one of the prettiest promenades a pedestrian can take in Paris. The Port du Louvre extends between two bridges: the Pont des Arts and one of the oldest in Paris, the Pont Royal. This former trading port, formally known as the Port Saint Nicolas, essentially existed to supply the Royal cavalry. Today it is where strollers can wander along the Seine by the Louvre. But this is also where the French capital's famous booksellers, the bouquinistes, can be found: perfect for bibliophiles out to find a first edition or some other rare find.
