Place de Clichy - 75017 Paris
Montmartre - La Chapelle
Lively and cosmopolitan, Place de Clichy is conveniently located at the crossroads of four districts (8th, 9th, 17th and 18th). Fully refurbished in late 2010, it is favoured by pedestrians and cyclists. Day and night, Parisians love to come here for lunch, dinner or a drink in one of the many restaurants lining it. Cinema fans always find the screening of their choice in one of the theaters in the area. The square is also the starting point of several essential walks in Paris: the Montmartre district (Basilica of the Sacré-Coeur, Place du Tertre, cemetery), Batignolles district (square, covered food market) ... all this under the watchful eye of Maréchal Moncey who's statue, at the centre of the square, marks the courageous defence against the Russian invasion of 1814.
