Montmartre - La Chapelle
The Montmartre funicular, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, runs alongside Square Louise Michel and links the bottom of the Butte Montmartre to its summit, where you'll find the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre. The journey, which takes 1 minute 30 seconds, takes you quickly and safely up the famous Butte stairs. This funicular, which opened in 1900, is managed by the RATP and operates with the Navigo easy pass. Once you've made it to the top without exhausting yourself by avoiding the 222 steps leading up to the Basilica, it's the perfect starting point for exploring the district and its iconic landmarks such as the Place du Tertre, Saint-Pierre de Montmartre church and the Moulin de la Galette.
