The Wallace fountains form part of the architectural heritage of Paris. These small fountains, which can be found throughout Paris, were installed to provide Parisians with drinking water. Today they offer residents and tourists a welcome opportunity to quench their thirst. There are four different models, the best known being the large fountain with four sculpted female figures (caryatids). All the Wallace fountains were originally dark green, but a few of them have been repainted bright red or pink.
