Westfield Forum des Halles

To mark the Bicentenary of photography, Westfield Forum des Halles unveils the 6th edition of its Art Sous Canopée cultural project, to be inaugurated on April 8, 2026. For this exceptional edition, the center is installing a monumental photographic work covering almost 250 m² under the Canopée.

The selected work is a photograph by Jack Nisberg taken in 1959 in the heart of the former Halles de Paris. It shows model Jo Olson captured on film amid the bustle of the market, before its historic transfer to Rungis in the late 60s. Thanks to the unique architecture of the Patio Pina Bausch, the photograph can be admired from several levels of the center. True to its mission of cultural democratization, the center selected this work via a participatory process including a vote on social networks and a jury of experts and local residents. The event also marks the Canopée's 10th anniversary, reinforcing the link between the district's history and its current modernity. Free and open to all.
