An artistic dialogue between Paris and Berlin, this free exhibition at the Petit Palais celebrates excellence in craftsmanship and contemporary innovation
The Petit Palais is hosting The Art of Making, a major international exhibition that brings together the craft scenes of Paris and Berlin. This event is part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat (CMA), illustrating the excellence of craftsmanship as a driving force for creativity between these two European capitals. In an immersive 300 m² exhibition, the exhibition unveils the creations of 73 craftspeople from the Paris region and Berlin. The exhibition is structured around three major periods - Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Contemporary Design - allowing visitors to understand the evolution of craftsmanship: from the heritage of historical skills to the audacity of contemporary design and visions of the future. Visitors can admire unique pieces from a variety of disciplines (fashion, furniture, ceramics, jewellery, etc.). In addition to the exhibition at the Petit Palais, a programme of events outside the museum is taking place across the capital, offering exclusive opportunities to prolong this immersion behind the scenes of creation and sustainable innovation.
