Choreographer Angelin Preljocaj's contemporary retelling of the legendary classical ballet!
The legendary "Swan Lake" is reborn at La Seine Musicale, from December 22 to 27, 2026, under the impetus of Angelin Preljocaj. The choreographer offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic ballet, transposing the tale of Odette and Siegfried into a modern world - where nature falters in the face of the appetites of industry. An endangered lake, a fossil-farming project, a swan-princess ready to rebel... ecological and social issues haunt the original fairytale. The ballet Preljocaj's production blends Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's sublime score with modern arrangements by the 79D collective, and offers a pared-down visual staging in which lights, videos and sober costumes create a dreamlike setting.
