A musical based on Victor Hugo's masterpiece, presented at the Théâtre du Châtelet for the festive season
After a resounding success in 2025 and numerous awards and accolades, the musical “Les Misérables” is back at the Théâtre du Châtelet. This French production, based on Victor Hugo’s novel, offers the chance to immerse yourself in the heart of the famous human epic painted by one of the greatest French writers of the 19th century, to reconnect with Jean Valjean, Fantine, and the Thénardiers, and to hear well-known songs such as “J’avais rêvé,” “À la volonté du peuple,” “Mon Histoire,” and “Le Grand jour.” The libretto was adapted by Alain Boublil. The music is by Claude-Michel Schönberg and performed under the direction of Alexandra Cravero and Charlotte Gauthier. The show is presented in a minimalist production directed by Ladislas Chollat, with sets by Emmanuelle Roy and costumes by Jean-Daniel Vuillermoz.
