Art Basel Paris, the essential gathering for lovers of modern and contemporary art

Calling all art lovers: Art Basel Paris 2026 will take over the recently renovated Grand Palais this fall, from October 23 to 25, 2026, for its fifth edition—the first under the direction of Karim Crippa. The fair highlights the city’s avant-garde heritage and features a selection of 211 international exhibitors from 41 countries and territories, more than 60 of which have galleries in France. These galleries present the full spectrum of modern and contemporary art, ranging from painting to video, including sculpture, installations, photography, and digital art. Young artists receive special support through the galleries in the Emergence section, while the Premise section highlights unique historical projects. A free public program of exhibitions and installations, open to all, is also taking place throughout the city in partnership with major institutions and Miu Miu as an Official Partner, inviting visitors to a unique artistic immersion across the capital.

The public programme for Art Basel Paris 2026

During each Paris edition of Art Basel, the public programme transforms the capital into a vast artistic experimentation ground. Around the Grand Palais - and elsewhere - iconic sites host unique installations, sculptures and performances, offering the public a free and immersive journey through the city.

💡From 20 to 25 October 2026, students from the École du Louvre will be on hand from 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm to provide information to visitors.

📍Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine: works by the American artist Kennedy Yanko are on display in the permanent collections. From 16 October 2026 to 3 January 2027, 11am to 7pm (closed on Tuesdays), from €10 to €13
📍Palais d’Iéna: Geste de Consolation by Alice Diop takes over the Palais d’Iéna for a first curatorial exhibition bringing together Black female artists to transform the representation of violence into a restorative artistic process. From 21 to 25 October 2026. Free admission
📍Jardin de la Nouvelle-France: Celia, or the Misfortunes of Virtue, 2026 by Boz Deseo Garden presents a work comprising two bronze sculptures, forming part of the artist’s exploration of the legacy of slavery. From 20 to 25 October 2026. Free admission
📍Square Jean Perrin: Champs d’Oiseaux, 2026 by Lionel Sabatté takes centre stage in the square in front of the Grand Palais with a bronze work depicting a flock of birds, a theme dear to the artist. From 20 to 25 October 2026. Free admission
📍Place Clemenceau: situated between the Grand and Petit Palais, the square hosts LOVE Wall by Robert Indiana - from the iconic LOVE series - a monumental sculpture in Corten steel. From 20 to 25 October 2026. Free admission
📍Avenue Winston Churchill: eight monumental projects - including CIEL by Marcello Maloberti, Abstract Bronze VIII by Yinka Shonibare, Door by Simone Fattal, Cat Head Totem by Niki de Saint Phalle and Angulo Amarillo by Carmen Herrera - invite visitors to take a leisurely stroll between the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais. 📍Petit Palais: Cosima von Bonin takes over the Paris Museum of Fine Arts with The Dollys & The Beaux, a menagerie of velvet and leather sculptures featuring octopuses, whales and St Bernards. From 20 to 25 October 2026, from 10am to 6pm (until 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays). Free admission
📍Chapelle des Petits-Augustins - École des Beaux-Arts de Paris: Kutluğ Ataman presents Küba, a video installation comprising 40 screens showing poignant testimonies from a community in the suburbs of Istanbul that no longer exists. Open from 20 to 25 October, from 10 am to 7pm. Free admission
📍The Parvis des Droits de l’Homme and its unique view of the Eiffel Tower is hosting a group of three monumental sculptures: I lay here for you, I Followed You to the End, I Will Not Be Alone by the British artist Tracey Emin. Here, she explores the themes of abandonment and resilience. From 14 October to 1 November. Free admission
📍 Shangri-La Paris: an exclusive exhibition by Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (in partnership with Galerie Templon). From 14 to 27 October 2026, the hotel’s Rotonde will be transformed into an immersive and contemplative work of art, weaving a poetic dialogue between historic architecture and monumental thread installations
