On 30 June 2026 at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, discover "Porgy and Bess", George Gershwin's masterpiece of interwar American opera. Premiered in 1935 and featuring the famous melody "Summertime", this work, a blend of opera, negro spirituals, blues and jazz, quickly became a hit in the jazz clubs of the day. "Porgy and Bess" is conducted by Quentin Hindley, with the Orchestre Lamoureux, the Voix d'Outre-mer vocal ensemble and, in the roles of Bess, Pumeza Matshikiza and Porgy, Bogani Justice Kubheka.
