The intertwined destinies of Siegmund and Sieglinde in Richard Wagner's famous Ring saga
Of the four operas in Richard Wagner's tetralogy ("Rhine Gold", "Valkyrie", "Siegfried" and "Twilight of the Gods"), "Die Walküre" (Valkyrie) is undoubtedly the best-known and most significant. This lyrical drama, the second part of the cycle, continues the Ring saga through the intertwined destinies of Siegmund and Sieglinde, bound together by a forbidden love. By taking their side against the will of the god Wotan, his daughter Brünnhilde defies the divine order and sets in motion a tragedy where passion, authority and fatality collide. Opera in German, surtitled in French and English. Performed from 7 to 17 November 2026.
