The birth of the ring of power that plunges the world into chaos: discover the prologue to Richard Wagner's tetralogy
Inspired by Germanic and ancient legends, Richard Wagner's monumental Ring tetralogy, also known as "The Ring of Nibelung", takes to the Opéra Bastille stage this autumn, directed by Calixto Bieito. The cycle opens with the prologue "Das Rheingold", presented from 6 to 15 November 2026, retracing the story of the theft of the Rhine Gold, a ring that is a symbol of fatal power, as it drags those who possess it to their doom. Opera in German, surtitled in French and English.
