Suresnes, City of Perfume: a unique guided tour of the perfume industry

Book
Saturday, November 14, and Saturday, December 5, 2026

The Suresnes Tourist Office and lecturer Murielle Bouteau are offering a unique guided tour on the history of perfumery and the leading perfumers based in Suresnes

The Suresnes Tourist Office has teamed up with the passionate lecturer Murielle Bouteau to offer a unique tour dedicated to the town’s fragrant history[cite: 129]. From Jean-Louis Fargeon (Marie-Antoinette’s perfumer) to François Coty (the inventor of modern perfumery), Suresnes stands out as a historic hub of the perfume industry. The tour consists of two parts: an introductory presentation at the new Tourist Office, followed by a two-hour indoor segment and then a half-hour outdoor stroll through the streets and past the monuments associated with these great names (the Balsan Pavilion, the Worth estate, and the Coty factory).
The tour begins at the Suresnes Tourist Office. Access by public transportation via the Transilien Lines L and U (stop: "Suresnes - Mont Valérien").
