Paris, a cinematic joy
Over the 30 years since it was first held, the Fête du Cinéma or Cinema Festival has become an eagerly-awaited fixture for the cinema-going public in France. Every year at the beginning of summer, this festival organised by the French cinema federation allows over 3 million people to watch films at the cinema at a discounted ticket price.
In Paris, legendary cinemas such as the Grand Rex , the Max Linder or the recently renovated Louxor which reopened in 2013 are some of the many cinemas which will be participating once again in this great cinema festival.
The Fête du Cinéma in Paris is also an occasion to discover films which ordinarily would be less well publicised. Many independent films therefore benefit from the cinema festival, taking the chance to assert themselves against the Hollywood blockbusters.
