On 20 October 2026, the Gaîté Lyrique and the Casa de Velázquez (Madrid, Spain), the Villa Albertine (United States), the Villa Kujoyama (Kyoto, Japan) and the Villa Médicis (Rome, Italy) present the third edition of ¡Viva Villa!, the event for French artist residencies abroad
¡Viva Villa! is a multidisciplinary festival featuring a selection of artists and researchers from the four residencies, who will be exhibiting their work during a day of meetings, screenings and workshops open to the public, followed by an evening of original concerts and performances. Each edition offers a sensitive and critical overview of major contemporary issues in literature, performing arts, architecture and the visual arts, among other disciplines. A veritable laboratory of forms, ¡Viva Villa! shows how an artist residency can be a place for research, introspection, innovation and encounters.
