Jean-Jacques Annaud: the secrets of filmmaking from a master of cinema

The Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé Foundation presents the exhibition ‘Le chantier invisible. Dans les coulisses des films de Jean-Jacques Annaud’ (The invisible construction site. Behind the scenes of Jean-Jacques Annaud's films), which honours director Jean-Jacques Annaud, his post-production research and his filming secrets. It brings together a multitude of elements involved in the making of a film and allows the public to discover the world of this boundless director, who is eager to meet new people and learn new filmmaking techniques. Known for his hard work and desire to master his art to perfection, Jean-Jacques Annaud supervises every stage of the creative process. The exhibition highlights the sets of his films, such as ‘Notre-Dame brûle’ (2022), as well as costumes, notably the iconic dress worn by Jane March in ‘L'Amant’ (1992). A large part of the exhibition is also based on the artist's iconographic and personal documents, including posters, sketches and storyboards. Open to the public from 20 March 2026.
Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Tuesday and Friday from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Saturday from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Closed Monday and Sunday. Summer closure on the evening of July 11, 2026. Reopening on September 2, 2026.
