An exhibition exploring the transmission of medical knowledge from Antiquity to modern times
The "Great Adventure of Medical Knowledge" exhibition offers a thematic tour revealing how medical knowledge was built up and transmitted from one civilization to another, despite wars, borders and social constraints. Through illuminated manuscripts, incunabula, pharmacopoeia instruments and surgical objects, visitors discover the major stages in the evolution of medicine - translation, transmission, debate, experimentation and treatment - as well as the profound influence of the Arab-Muslim world in the history of medical science.
