A group exhibition that explores our perception of reality through illusion, the fake, digital technology, and artificial intelligence
From June 25 to September 27, 2026, the Magasins Généraux in Pantin will host *Simulacres*, a group exhibition exploring the relationship between reality and appearance. Bringing together works by nearly twenty artists, the exhibition explores the various ways in which our perception can be deceived, shifted, or transformed. Installations, photographs, videos, digital works, and devices that play with our perceptions come together to question what we consider to be true. The exhibition examines traditional representational techniques as well as contemporary technologies and images generated by artificial intelligence.
Straddling the line between fascination and unease, *Simulacres* invites visitors to take a step back from the images that surround us and to reflect on our ability to distinguish reality from its representation. The exhibition is curated by Anna Labouze and Keimis Henni.
