A metaphorical tale about memory, grief, and the passing down of traditions, at the intersection of photography, literature, and theater

Until 4 October 2026, the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation is presenting the exhibition “Eboro” by Ivorian artist Nuits Balnéaires, a recipient of the Hermès Corporate Foundation’s “Latitudes” program. At the intersection of photography, literature, theater, and performance, this project takes the form of a metaphorical tale centered on memory, mourning, and transmission. The artist draws direct inspiration from the poignant story of his uncle, the journalist and poet Noël X. Ebony, who died prematurely in exile. By combining often nocturnal visual compositions captured in Grand-Bassam with poetic fragments by his elder relative, *Nuits Balnéaires* forges a healing dialogue with the past.
From 11am to 7pm. Closed on Monday.
