Renoir Drawings

Spotlight on the drawings of painter Auguste Renoir and the wealth of graphic techniques he used for his canvases.

The Musée d'Orsay presents a new exhibition dedicated to the drawings of the painter Auguste Renoir. Little known as a draughtsman, throughout his career he used the graphic arts to create and design his famous paintings. Around a hundred drawings and a few paintings reveal the links between the artist's canvases and works on paper, as well as the wealth of techniques he used, from charcoal and pen to pastel and sanguine.
