From September 24, 2026, to February 21, 2027, the Frac Île-de-France presents "Joyeuse retraite papa", video artist Rayane Mcirdi’s first institutional exhibition in Paris, at Le Plateau. Organized as part of the 2026 Mediterranean Season, the event highlights the work of an artist who weaves together personal memory and collective narratives. At the heart of the exhibition experience: A narrative immersion - the exhibition presents the film "Le dernier jour de Dino" as a scenographic journey composed of several chapters that build on one another from one room to the next. A sensitive look at the world of work and family: Inspired by the story of the artist’s father, the work retraces the final day of a factory worker leaving the factory after a forty-year career, capturing the rhythms of the trade, the solidarity of colleagues, and the return to loved ones. Somewhere between documentary and fiction: Rayane Mcirdi brings family stories and memories of the suburbs (Asnières-sur-Seine, Gennevilliers) to life, exploring intergenerational bonds and shared identities between France and Algeria.
