An exceptional exhibition at the Grand Palais dedicated to Matisse's last 13 years: the era of paper cut-outs, from Jazz to Vence
The Grand Palais explores Henri Matisse's final, luminous creative period with "Matisse. 1941-1954". This exhibition focuses on the last thirteen years of the artist's life, when he invented a new way of painting: cut paper. Dubbed his "second flight", this technique gave rise to monumental, vibrant works, revealing his absolute mastery of color and form. The tour includes masterpieces such as the "Jazz" album and the preparatory studies for the Chapelle du Rosaire in Vence, testifying to the artist's inexhaustible vitality in the face of adversity.
