A new retrospective at the Musée d'Orsay devoted to American painter Mary Cassatt, a major figure of the Impressionist movement in France
From 6 October 2026 to 31 January 2027, the Musée d'Orsay is devoting a major retrospective to Mary Cassatt (1844-1926) to mark the centenary of her death. Organized in collaboration with London's National Portrait Gallery and Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition retraces the career of the American painter, who was a key figure in the Impressionist movement in France, where she lived for almost sixty years. Nearly 80 paintings, pastels and prints, hitherto rarely exhibited, highlight the importance to the artist of her independence as a common thread running through both her work and her life.
From 9.30 am to 6pm. From 9.30am to 9.45pm Thursday. Closed on Monday.
