Musée du Louvre, Musée du Louvre - 75058 Paris Cedex 01
From 8 April to 20 July 2026
Discover the work of Martin Schongauer, painter and engraver of the late Middle Ages
From 8 April to 20 July 2026, the Louvre will present the exhibition ‘Martin Schongauer. Le bel immortel’ (Martin Schongauer: The Beautiful Immortal) dedicated to Martin Schongauer (1445–1491). This late medieval painter owes his fame to his skills as an engraver, which he acquired in his father’s goldsmith’s workshop. The museum will unveil a large collection of paintings and engravings, including ‘The Virgin in the Rose Bush’ (1473), his only dated painted panel, and will then juxtapose Martin Schongauer's works with those of artists who were inspired by the painter until the early 17th century.
From 9am to 6pm. From 9am to 9pm on Wednesday and Friday. Closed on Tuesday.
