A moving and unique journey into the heart of everyday photography
Through 24 September 2026, the Jeu de Paume is hosting a major retrospective of the vibrant work of photographer Madeleine de Sinéty (1934-2011), whose career has remained in the shadows for far too long. Developed outside the mainstream art world, her work offers a rare immersion into the human condition. From the bustle of city life to rural communities, the artist captured the essence of existence from within, forging an intimate connection with her subjects. Through a visual style imbued with nostalgia and tenderness, complemented by excerpts from her diary, the exhibition reveals forgotten fragments of memory and previously unseen series. A poetic and deeply moving journey between France and the United States, where the fragile beauty of everyday life is revealed with striking authenticity.
From 11am to 7pm. From 11am to 9pm on Tuesday. Closed on Monday.
