A Look Behind the Scenes at the Construction of Auguste Bartholdi’s Statue of Liberty
To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, the Musée des Arts et Métiers invites visitors to take a behind-the-scenes look at the construction of the Statue of Liberty, designed by French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi. The exhibition “Lady Liberty. Sweat, Audacity, Genius” is immersive and unprecedented, revealing how this monumental masterpiece came to life in the 19th century in Parisian workshops through videos, 3D installations, and life-size sets. On view from 22 September to 1 August 2027.
