The Japanese Cultural Centre in Paris honours the great Japanese master of animated film, Isao Takahata

The Maison de la Culture du Japon in Paris is dedicating an exhibition to Isao Takahata (1935–2018) from 15 October to 24 January 2026. A grand master of Japanese animation, he was one of the co-founders of Studio Ghibli alongside Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki. His best-known works include ‘Grave of the Fireflies,’ ‘The Tale of Princess Kaguya’ and the television series ‘Heidi.’ The exhibition traces his creative journey and showcases his works through his notebooks, original drawings, film clips and videos.
From 11am to 7pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday, as well as on public holidays and during the Christmas holidays.
