The Shoah Memorial presents an exceptional discovery: 98 photographs found documenting the first mass arrest of Jews
From May 10 to December 31, 2026, the Shoah Memorial unveils a major exhibition dedicated to the "greenback" roundup. This event is based on the incredible discovery of 98 photographs taken by Harry Croner, a Propaganda Kompanie photographer, which had been forgotten for over 80 years. For the first time, this comprehensive report shows the faces of the 3,700 men trapped by a simple prefectural summons, as well as those of the women and children who watched helplessly as their families were separated. From the tragic scenes in the Japy gymnasium to the transfer to the Pithiviers and Beaune-la-Rolande camps, these images offer a unique historical testimony to the establishment of persecution in France.
From 10am to 6pm. 10am to 9pm. Thursday. Closed Saturday, May 22, July 14 and December 25, 2026.
