Exceptional retrospective of Hilma af Klint, exploring her major cycle of "Temple Paintings", a founding work of abstraction
From May 6 to August 30, 2026, the Grand Palais invites the public to discover the fascinating world of Hilma af Klint, a revolutionary figure in art history. The exhibition focuses on her monumental series "Temple Paintings", produced between 1906 and 1915, a collection of 193 works intended for an imaginary spiritual edifice. Long in the shadows, the Swedish artist is now recognized as one of the true pioneers of abstraction, having explored non-figurative forms long before the masters of the genre. Her work, imbued with theosophy and spiritualism, unfolds in spectacular formats and a vibrant palette, blending esoteric symbols and organic geometry.
Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 7.30 pm Nocturne on Fridays until 10pm. Exceptionally closed on July 7, 2026 from 10 am to 2 pm and all day on July 14, 2026.
