Tribute exhibition at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine dedicated to the artist François Morellet, marking the centennial of his birth
The Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine is paying tribute to François Morellet on the centennial of his birth with the exhibition “François Morellet, Traits d'esprit.” This artist - a visual artist, painter, printmaker, and sculptor - is a leading figure in geometric abstraction, renowned for his site-specific installations in public spaces. Since the 1970s, François Morellet has created 140 monumental works known as “désintégrations” within the heart of our architectural heritage, transforming it through the interplay of light and shifting perspectives. Displayed on building facades, in squares, train stations, and gardens, these works initiate a unique dialogue between art and urban architecture. On view from 16 October to 3 January 2027.
From 11am to 7pm. From 11am to 9pm on Thursday. Closed on Tuesday and 1 January.
