Spotlight on Jacomo Robusti, known as Tintoretto, one of the masters of Italian Renaissance painting
From 11 September to 24 January 2027, the Jacquemart-André Museum is hosting an exhibition dedicated to one of the masters of the Italian Renaissance: Tintoretto. A major figure in 16th-century painting, Jacomo Robusti, known as Tintoretto, led a remarkable career throughout his life in Venice, contributing notably to the decorative frescoes of the Doge’s Palace and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. The retrospective “Eternal Tintoretto” showcases the artist’s creativity through some forty paintings and graphic works, blending effects of light, dizzying perspectives, and bold compositions. It also highlights how Tintoretto became a source of inspiration for 19th-century French painting.
