When Contemporary Art Reinterprets the Great Historical Figures of Saint-Eustache Church

On view from 8 October to spring 2027 at the Church of Saint-Eustache, artist Jiang Qiong Er’s monumental installation “Lumière Divine” (Divine Light) creates a dialogue between heritage, spirituality, and artistic creation. By incorporating the century-old niches on the façade and within the interior of the monument, the artist reinterprets the site’s major historical figures through an abstract language that blends gilded reliefs, sculptures, felt, and plays of light. Conceived as a poetic and sensory journey open to all, this universal work transforms the church’s threshold into an invitation to contemplation and communal living.
From 7.45am to 7.30pm. From 10am to 7.45pm Saturday and Sunday. The artwork on the facade remains visible from the plaza, even in the evening.
