From 22 January to 13 December 2026

The story of Chaïm-Charles Kaliski, an artist deeply affected by the Holocaust

The exhibition ‘Chaïm Kaliski. “Jim d'Etterbeek”’ on display at the Musée d’art et d’histoire du Judaïsme (Museum of Jewish Art and History) until 13 December 2026 is named after the artist and his monumental work on the Occupation in Brussels, comprising more than five thousand drawings. Deeply scarred by his father's arrest during the German occupation of Belgium, the artist began drawing at the age of sixty. Between 1989 and 1999, he produced thousands of drawings recounting his story and that of his family. Scenes of arrests and roundups combine text and images, with representations of screams of terror bringing them to life and making them speak.
From 11am to 6pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. From 11am to 9pm on Wednesday. From 11am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. Closed on Monday.
€13. Reduced price : €9.
