How the work and art of Paul Cezanne, a pioneer of modern art, have continued to influence artists since the late 19th century

Considered the “founding father of modern art,” Paul Cézanne has had a major influence on artists since the late 19th century. With the exhibition “Cezanne and us,” the Grand Palais traces the artistic legacy of this famous French painter through the works of key figures such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Piet Mondrian, Joan Mitchell, Bridget Riley, and Peter Doig. Nearly 180 works reveal how these painters appropriated, drew inspiration from, or transformed Paul Cezanne’s work. On view from 23 September to 17 January 2027.
