The extraordinary journey of Brion Gysin, avant-garde artist of the 20th century
The Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris presents the first retrospective devoted to multidisciplinary artist Brion Gysin (1916–1986) and his extraordinary career, featuring more than 140 works (paintings, sound and visual poetry, experimental cinema, novels, photographs, performances, etc.). The exhibition focuses on the techniques discovered and created by Brion Gysin, such as Cut-up and the Dreamachine, which influenced his approach to art, particularly in his favourite themes of dreams, surrealism and travel. Emphasis is also placed on the artist's strong relationship with Paris, the city that inspired him and where he lived. Open to the public from 10 April 2026.
