Spotlight on a French film icon, his cult classics, and his famous stunts
The exhibition "Belmondo, the Magnificent” on view from 7 October to 31 January 2027, at the Cinémathèque Française, celebrates Jean-Paul Belmondo, an iconic figure of French cinema. This retrospective traces the career of this actor, who has appeared in 90 films, and who rose to fame in 1960 with “À bout de souffle,” an iconic film of the French New Wave. The exhibition highlights his free-spirited acting style, his natural charm, and his energy, while exploring his versatility across drama, comedy, and action films—a genre he left his mark on with his taste for risk and his still-famous stunts.
