Every year in October or November, the Maison de l’Inde at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris organizes a show of traditional Indian songs, music and dance, candlelit dinners and appetizers, and fireworks to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light. It’s the most important religious festival for Hindus around the world, and traditionally candles are lit, fireworks are set off, and gifts are given.
