A journey into the world of the Pokémon video game franchise, from its creation to the artists it inspires!
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon video game, the Musée en Herbe presents “Come and see them all! An exhibition celebrating Pokémon” from 16 April 2026. It explores the early days of the Pokémon universe through an immersive time capsule that transports visitors back to the 1990s: a portrait of creator Satoshi Tajiri, the first French and Japanese cards, preparatory sketches for the animated series, booster packs, vintage merchandise and giant Game Boys. The exhibition continues by exploring the influence of Japanese culture on the Pokémon universe, revealing the close links between folklore, spirituality and contemporary imagination. Works by Alphonse Mucha, Piet Mondrian, Edvard Munch and Vincent Van Gogh are reimagined in the style of Pokémon, whilst contemporary artists pay tribute to Japanese pop culture and Pokémon.
