Candlelight Evenings

A candlelight journey back in time to the splendour of 17th-century celebrations at the Vaux-le-Vicomte château

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte will host the spectacular Candelight Evenings event. During the event, the château – a 17th-century architectural gem set in a French formal garden designed by André Le Nôtre – will be illuminated by 2,000 candles, making for a truly enchanting experience inspired by the celebration that took place here on 17 August 1661. The fountains play as dusk sets in, and the celebration winds up with a gold and silver fireworks display, during which the actor André Dussollier reads out a text by Jean de La Fontaine.
