As it has every year since 1880, France celebrates its National Day on July 14. In Paris, the festivities begin first thing in the morning with the traditional military parade on the Champs-Élysées, featuring marching troops and an impressive flyover by the Patrouille de France. In the evening, the capital comes alive to the sound of a grand classical music concert and a spectacular fireworks display launched from the Eiffel Tower. Firefighters’ balls, open-air dance halls, and festive river cruises round out this unmissable, popular, and republican celebration.
